The City of Leadville has a Board of Adjustment to provide for special exceptions to certain provisions of Chapter 17, Planning and Zoning.

Citizens who feel there has been an error in any order, requirement, decision, denial or refusal made by an administrative officer or agency based on or made in the enforcement of the zoning regulations can file a variance application. Citizens may also file for a variance to seek relief of a zoning regulation if there is a hardship or practical difficulties carrying out applications of the zoning regulations.
