Leadville/Lake County Fire-Rescue (LLCFR) was established in 1882 and provides fire protection and emergency response to the City of Leadville and the County of Lake as a consolidated fire rescue service. An all-hazards, community-based agency, LLCFR dedicates itself each day to reducing community risk through excellence in emergency service.
Leadville/Lake County Fire-Rescue does more than fight fire... much more. As your local, community-based all hazards, first-response emergency response agency, LLCFR responds to motor vehicle accidents, rescues of all types, emergency medical incidents, releases of hazardous materials, as well as suppression of structural and wildfire and all other emergencies not directly related to law enforcement.
The fire department also installs, inspects, and gives out car seats. The department has developed an address sign program for better response times to better serve the community. Call for more information: (719) 486-2990.
As the community's first-response emergency service, LLCFR also plans for emergency events of all sizes and kinds, working closely with the community to educate through prevention to reduce and mitigate the chances of various emergencies from happening.
