Film Permit Applications

A Film Permit is required for any commercial media activity involving the use of and having impact upon public property, public facilities, parks, sidewalks, paths, trails, streets or other public areas or the media use of private property in a manner that varies from its current land use, and lies within the boundaries of the City. Film Permit Applications are not reviewed by any state or federal entity. It is the applicant’s responsibility to adhere to any state or federal requirements and to obtain any additional required state or federal permits.
“Commercial media” is defined as: The recording of visual content (including video or photography) intended for commercial purposes, such as but not limited to advertising, promotion, marketing, or profit generation, the production of materials that will be sold, broadcast, streamed, or used to promote a product, service, brand, company, or individual. 
“Impact” is defined as: Any closure, impedance, damage, destruction, abnormal wear and tear, interference or use of any public facility, property, roadway, trail, structure, ingress, egress or business function that causes extraordinary or unusual expense, or deters or detracts from other duties for any governmental agency within the City.

Fees are associated with this application. Refer to the City of Leadville fee schedule available Here Additionally, the City may require other fees to cover the costs of additional City services associated with this event, including law enforcement, community service officers, or Street Department coverage. Please see the City fee schedule for these hourly rates.
